Husband – 20th Century in Cartoons – 1920s

So, I am reading – a decade a day – the late great Tony Husband’s book The 20th Century in Cartoons” (to be clear, he selected them, he didn’t draw them.)  See also The Onion’s Our Dumb Century.  

This decade, in my mind is one of… Prohibition, all forms of corruption, the Wall Street Crash. Lots of people walking around with undiagnosed trauma

What I didn’t know: 

The global death toll from the influenza epidemic (as many as 50m out of a 2bn population? Holy shit)

The Woman Patriot (anti-suffrage magazine)

GB Shaw as the only person to have both a Nobel and an Oscar (until Bob Dylan)
