Network anchoring

Network anchoring means that changes occur in the network of actors that ‘carry’ the novelty, e.g. by producing it, using it or developing it further who thus become related. Besides simple expansion of the network, there are other indications of network anchoring. These include intensified contact and exchange among actors within the network involved, increasing interdependence and/or a strengthening of the coalition which is supporting the innovation process (Leeuwis and Aarts, 2011).
