Future expectations

Can be created/mobilised to shape the demands and actions of different groups

A form of “framing the future” I guess.

In the 50s the “Visions of the Future” were of holidays on the moon, jetpacks and electricity too cheap to meter, as captured nicely in the Onion “Our Dumb Century” headline about the GM Dreadnaught.
