Risk aversion

So, when you are running a big big company, one false move can cost lots of money.  Shareholders get grumbly…

And let’s remember the folk wisdom-

The Japanese proverb –

  • 出る杭は打たれる (deru kui wa utareru) – “A stake that sticks out will be hammered”

“Nobody ever got fired for buying IBM”

And we as humans tend to remember losses more than gains (not all of us, naturally).
