The Conservation Society

The Conservation Society [Wikipedia] was a UK non-governmental organisation that was created in 1967 and was wound up in 1987. As to its purpose, well, the clue is in the name. There’s one good academic article about it, and virtually no digital footprint.

Over time I intend to change that, by putting up some of its materials (newsletters, monographs and annual reports) online, and – I hope – getting an academic article or two submitted and – gasp – perhaps published.

To whet your appetite, here’s three documents I found in the bowels of University of Sussex library…

Newsletter 41 (May/June 1972)

The Annual Report for 1975

A 1975 Monograph “Towards the Creation of a Sustainable Economy”
