Situated cognition

A second principle of attention-based perspectives is that of situated cognition (Suchman 1987, Ross and Nisbett 1991, Ocasio 1997). This principle posits that the attention of industry participants to particular issues and answers is situated within the particular channels of communication through which they interact.
