Ovid’s Metamorphoses, completed in 8 AD, is one of those epic poems I should have gotten around to in my teens. But, here we are (1).
Over the next 111 days (e.g. for most of the rest of 2026), I am going to read a section of Ovid’s Metamorphoses, (the 1958 translation by Horace Gregory) and also write a short blog post about it.

Why? Oh, remedial accumulation of cultural capital.
Should you read every post? Er, probably not.
What would success look like:
- I actually get through all 111 (narrating, blogging) without too many missed days.
- I learn some new stuff.
- I listen to some good podcasts
- I meet some interesting people online
Footnote
(1) So, I have eyes bigger than my hands. I keep making grand plans (no, I mean Grand[iose] Plans) about how I will read/write x or y or z.. I usually fail. HOWEVER, of late I’ve been failing a bit better – lasting longer, doing the reading if not all the blogging/consolidating, etc. So, we shall see if I can do this for 111 days in a row…
