I used Paint to make this below. That was a mistake because, well, I used Paint to make this below. At the absolute minimum, I could have done it as a slide on googlesheets, and got the proportions and alignments right.
Everything always half-assed.
Anyway, it is getting some traction on my allouryesterdays bluesky account because it is pretty easy to interpret and the heat is salient.
We were warned. I think that is one of two messages I would really really like to get across. I think I have done that on the website, but not yet well enough on the book.
The other message that I think I have to offer (ymmv) is one about social movements. I think I can show that they have failed on climate (not hard), and also have some useful or useable things to say on WHY they have failed (at a properly micro-level, as well as some of the meso stuff).
The problem is, as I see it (and this may be convenient/self-serving) is that that second message, because it doesn’t allow us to offload all responsibility onto our Lords and Masters in the parliaments, the government departments, the boardrooms and the TV studios, is unpopular and doesn’t resonate with those currently “on top” or “in the audience” in social movements. So it feels like I am shouting in the void, the proverbial guy walking around with the sandwich board saying ‘you’re doing it all wrong’ and spluttering out neologisms like ego-fodder and smugosphere and so on.
And in anycase, as per the King who is a Queen….

I think we have an answer to the question Ovid poses in ‘The Flood’ (Book 1 of his Metamorphoses).

And that answer is “Why yes, yes it would.”
