There should be, anyway.

Anyway, in response to a bsky post about shoddy journalists transferring their “knowledge” into the security state, I came up with a spoof article abstract….

“I have penis and a pen; how hard can it be?”: transferrable credibility and the National Security State

Abstract: As the polycrises (previously known as “The Problematique”) ramify in new and interesting ways, increasing strain is thrown on the elements of the ideological state apparatus that seek to advise imperial managers on how to maintain dominance, if not outright hegemony.  One particular problem created by polycrises is whose expertise is relevant and useful to these elites.  Previous heuristics – that someone’s work has appeared in print, that they have been invited to sit on various panels (TV, bureaucratic) – have been used to promote and protect a relatively narrow group of people whose faces (and often genitalia) ‘fit’ These heuristics lead to “safe pairs or hands” who can be relied upon to repeat and amplify conventional ‘wisdom.’ This study, based on participant observation and process-tracing, follows the careers of several foresight foreskins (“the useless piece of skin at the end of a penis”) as they move from journalism into the punditocracy and onwards to the inner sancta of the National Security State, causing immeasurable damage through their slow-witted violence, while racking up book deals and CV points.  The article concludes with potential remedies, mostly focussed on “kill them all, let God sort them out” , and avenues for future research.
