Juggling: “whoop, whoop – 3 club doubles!” and future plans

Finally the dam broke, the straw rendered the camel paralysed etc – after weeks of regular (if not focussed enough – see below) practice, I can now throw clubs for double-spins- breakthrough came a couple of days ago. This is a Big Deal because most of the tricks you need for club juggling (three or four) require this.

It’s not pretty, it’s not precise enough (again, see below) but it exists and so the frustration and the inverse-narcissistic (neurotic?) doubts about Never Getting There are over.

The aspiration remains a) five ball cascades and b) asynchronous four club fountains as soon as I can.

First thing – I have been jotting down notes for a Long Blog Post about the format of practice sessions and how these relate to patterns and systems thinking – that should go up (here) tomorrow).

Second thing – I have made the radical decision to try to a) do what I am told (!!!) and b) do what I am told by, gasp, a woman (underexamined misogynistic mindsets? Me? Shurely shome mistake). That is to say, my favourite juggling mentor is Taylor Glen, of the Taylor Tries site, and she has got a couple of videos about 5 ball juggling that I have recently watched. I am going to follow her advice (which I will type up) to the absolute best of my ability, in the hope of getting to my goals as quickly, efficiently and ‘permanently’ as possible….
